*STRATEGIC PLANNING*
By Precious Kingsley
Good evening my lovely sisters, I hope you had a wonderful day today.
Today we are going to discuss on the topic
*STRATEGIC PLANNING*
I hope we all will learn a thing or two from the lesson of today. Please follow it one step at a time as we begin
The reason why I want to talk on this topic is because the year 2018 is coming to an end and we are about to start a new year
as women there is need for us to seriously and consciously take stock of the past year, set goals for the coming year and have laid down plans on how to accomplish these our set goals.
*WHAT IS PLANNING*
Planning is thinking π€before action takes place,
It involves deciding before hand ✅ what is to be done ✅how it is to be done, ✅and who is to do it.
It is also the process of setting goalsπ₯ , developing strategies π€Ύ♀ and outlining task to accomplish the set goals.
*STAGES OF PLANNING*
In order to successfully execute your plan you must consider these three stages of planning
They are
*1⃣Strategic Planning:*
these involves setting long teem goals and focusing all your energy and resources to achieve them e.g setting out a plan to achieve a particular goal in 2,3,4,or5 years.
*2⃣Tactical planning:*
these involves breaking down your long-term plans into medium term plans
e.g having a 1 year plan, yearly plans.
*3⃣Operational Planning:* this involves further breaking down your medium term plans into short term plans
e.g having daily, weekly or monthly plans.
Every plan must have a timeline so by knowing these stages of planning you will be able to set a proper timeline for your goals.
To start your planning you need to know which stage your plan will fall under
Is your plan achievable in one year if so then it is a tactical plan
Is it achievable in more than one year ???
Knowing the right stage to place your set plan will help you to set out the right strategies to achieve them.
*AREAS TO CENTRE YOUR PLANNING ON*
to have a balance plan you must be sure to include every area of your life when setting out your plan.
For the purpose of this study we are going to categories our planning into three areas.
*Personal Plans*
these involves setting plans specifically for yourself, you can set personal plans concerning your, health, career, educational life, physical, social, financial life etc. Anything you personally want to achieve for the period you can write them down under the heading Personal plans.
*Family Plan*
You will agree with me that sometimes women are the once who set out plans for the entire family, as a woman you have a very important roll to play in your home, you must learn to set out plans for your family, what are the things you want to achieve in the family for the period write them down in your plan under the heading plans for the family.
*Spiritual Planning*
Sometimes we set out plans for our self's and for our family but we forget to set plans for our spiritual life's this is very wrong, our spiritual life is a very important areas of our life so we must set out plans on how to grow in our spiritual life.
Sometimes when we set out our plans for the year we tend to focus more on one area
Please there is need to seriously consider these three areas stated above when you are making plans for the new year.
*HOW TO START YOUR PLANING*
before you start planing you must consider the following
1⃣ *GOD FIRST:*
The importance of including God in everything you want to embark upon cannot be over emphasised. You need God to direct you on which area to centre your planning on and to also make the resources available to help your achieve your set goals.
*2⃣Set goals*
Goal setting is the art of translating your dreams into reality. It is the act of writing down your dreams, crystallizing your thinking and developing a plan with a deadline to achieve those goals.
In order to have a proper planning you must first set realistic goals.
*Note* : goals are not prayer request so do not mistake one for the other.
*3⃣Write down your plan*
Having set your goals you have to get a note pad and write down your plans on how to achieve these goals, and when to achieve them
Writing down your plan for the year is very important
Most times you might have a plan to do a particular thing but when the money comes you might completely forget what you were suppose to do and end up spending the money to solve the immediate problems at hand
But if you have your plans for the year writing out on a note Pad or inside your phone you can always check on it to know what to do when you have money at hand
You can take this while you listen
